A participatory culture is a necessary part of a 21st century school. How do you build a participatory culture? In this session Henry Jenkins' new media literacies will be defined and discussed, play, performance, multitasking, simulation, appropriation, distributed cognition, judgement, transmedia navigation, networking, negotiation, visualization collective intelligence, Practical applications of the new media literacies will be demonstrated and attendees will leave with an understanding of how to build a participatory culture in their school.
